Kane Brown loves his family like he loves country music.
The “Miles On It” singer walked the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards red carpet at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tenn., on Sept. 26 alongside his leading lady, wife Katelyn Jae Brown, but without their kids in tow. And Kane—who is father to daughters Kingsley Rose, 4, and Kodi Jane, 2, as well as son Krewe Allen, born in June—joked that he's having a tough time adjusting to being a family of five.
"I’m not loved anymore," Kane quipped to E! News cohost Keltie Knight. "Yeah, all my girls love my son now."
All jokes aside, the country singer is "excited" for his son's—and his family's—future.
"I hope he plays sports," Kane continued. "There’s so much music around in our life that he might pick that up, but I hope he just picks up a baseball or basketball, something. My daughters, too. I love sports."
The Sept. 26 ceremony—hosted by Shania Twain—is sure to be a big night for the 30-year-old, as he’s set to be honored with the Country Champion Award. The prestigious award—which saw Wynonna Judd as its inaugural recipient in 2023—recognizes his passion for service and groundbreaking contributions to the country music industry and beyond.
The “Thank God” singer has plenty to be thankful for as he went into the night with seven nominations, including The People’s Artist of 2024. Zach Bryan and Beyoncé lead this year’s nominees with 12 apiece, followed by Kacey Musgraves with 10, Morgan Wallen with nine and Luke Combs with eight.
On top of all that, Kane took the stage to perform ahead of fellow performers including Keith Urban, Kelsea Ballerini, Lady A, Parker McCollum, The War & Treaty, Brad Paisley and Miranda Lambert, who will receive the Country Icon Award.
And while Kane will emerge one of the night’s biggest honorees regardless of how many awards he takes home, it’s not lost on the singer how far he’s come since his early days in country music—and the impostor syndrome he faced.
"Everything that I went through is a part of my life that got me here,” Kane told Today in 2023. “And I’m actually proud of it. Even though a lot of it was tough and hard and you didn’t know what was going to come out of it. But I feel like that’s who made me who I am today."
As he put it, "It made me strong. It made me want to give back to people, and made me humble. And just made me proud of who I am and where I came from."
