The Buffalo Bills defense has been decimated by injuries. Safety Taylor Rapp suffered the scariest of the year on Sunday.
Rapp was transported off the field in an ambulance late in the second quarter against the New York Jets.
Rapp bent at the waist and lowered his shoulder to make a tackle on New York running back Breece Hall after a 15-yard catch-and-run. Bills cornerback Taron Johnson was also chasing on the play and in on the collision.
Rapp's right shoulder and helmet collided with Hall's helmet as the running back braced for impact. After the tackle, Rapp took a few steps toward the Bills sideline, tugged on his left shoulder pad and then called for a trainer. He squatted down and then fell to his knees.
The team initially ran out to Johnson, who was able to get to his feet and jog to the locker room with athletic trainers.

An ambulance drove onto the field and trainers removed Rapp's facemask and strapped him to a backboard. Rapp was shown flexing his left hand as he was lifted into the ambulance.
CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson reported at the start the third quarter that Rapp remained in the locker room and was not taken to the hospital. Rapp was officially ruled out with a neck injury. Johnson is out for the game with a concussion.
CBS cameras showed Damar Hamlin, who is inactive for the game, watching the scene from the sideline. Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest against the Cincinnati Bengals in January.
Last month, Buffalo running back Damien Harris was loaded onto an ambulance after a taking a hit from New York Giants linebacker Bobby Okereke on Sunday Night Football. Harris spent the night in the hospital with a neck injury and was placed in injured reserve.
