Together, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and NXT Women's Champion Becky Lynch are continuing to carry the legacy of the late Bray Wyatt.
The couple were some of several stars who paid tribute to Wyatt on the shows following his death in August, including wearing armbands that said "Bray" or "Windham" for his actual name, Windham Rotunda. But more than a month later, Rollins and Lynch paid tribute to the star of the Wyatt family on back-to-back nights.
After taking part in a dark match following "Friday Night Smackdown," Rollins had the crowd at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento light up the crowd with "fireflies," a nod to the entrance of Wyatt. The next night at NXT No Mercy, Lynch came out for the extreme rules title match against Tiffany Stratton wearing a shirt with her nicknames, child and "Bray."
'It's very important that we honor him'
Prior to her match at NXT No Mercy, Lynch told USA TODAY Sports the importance of carrying Wyatt's legacy after his death.
"Somebody like Windham, who was just a wonderful person, who gave so much to this business, who was loved so much by this business and he loves this business. I think it's very important that we honor him continue to honor him," Lynch said.
The NXT Women's Champion said she constantly thinks about Wyatt's fiancée, JoJo Offerman, and their children, and if there's one thing she wants, is for the WWE universe to make it known to Wyatt's family the impact he had.
"The thing that's always on my mind is JoJo and his babies and how we honor that legacy. And that's so important, because I can't even imagine, and every time I think about it, it absolutely breaks my heart, to be without your partner for life, be without your father," Lynch said. "Anyway that we can help (his family), anyway the fans, the audience can remind them of how loved their father was and how loved Windham was. I think it's a beautiful thing."
